This is a replacement for the 50mm f/1.4 that I bartered. Initial impression: Fast and colorful. I like it. Nice to be able to get closer to subject while maintaining the same frame I want.
Out with the new, in with the new.
Yesterday, after much research into the seller and due diligence — and hand wringing. And pacing. And late nights — I bought a 2006 Honda F4i motorcycle. This is my ideal bike. The only way I could be happier is if it was a 750 but Honda doesn’t sell one of those.
In addition to a large sum of money, I put $1000 of camera equipment in trade. I sold my D40 body, which was already for sale, my 18-200 VR fresh back from Nikon for an AF fix and working better than ever and my 50mm f/1.4. At this point, the only camera I can shoot with is my little Casio Exilim. I don’t regret the trade one bit. I’ll probably just pick up an 18-55 Nikkor for a hundred bucks and be back in business.
Nikon digital camera comparison
Here is a comparison of the Nikon digital cameras I’ve owned. My wife had a 3MP or so point and shoot Nikon Coolpix 3200. It’s not included. Comparison includes D40, D70, D80 and Coolpix 800.
